Qui a épousé Empress Shi?

Empress Shi (fl. 23 CE) was empress of China during the final months of the brief Xin dynasty. She married the Xin emperor Wang Mang in the spring of 23, as his empire was crumbling to agrarian revolts. Despite that, he married her as a public show of confidence. She was the daughter of one of his officials, Shi Chen (史諶).

In the autumn of 23, the Xin capital Chang'an fell to Lulin rebels acting in concert with members of the Han's imperial Liu family. Wang Mang died in the battle at Weiyang Palace. It is unrecorded what happened to Empress Shi, although it is known that her father Shi Chen surrendered to the Han forces and was then executed.

Wang Mang (en chinois : 王莽 ; pinyin : wáng mǎng, nom de courtoisie : Jujun (巨君, jùjūn, « souverain Ju »), né vers 45 avant J-C et mort le 6 octobre 23 après J-C, est un fonctionnaire à l'époque de la dynastie Han et qui a pris le trône occupé par la famille Liu pour fonder la dynastie Xin (ou Hsin), au pouvoir de 9 à 23 EC.

La dynastie Han a été rétablie après qu'il a été renversé. Son règne marque la séparation entre la dynastie des Han occidentaux (avant la Xin) et celle des Han orientaux (après Xin). Wang est traditionnellement considéré par certains historiens comme un usurpateur, tandis que d'autres le dépeignent comme un réformateur social visionnaire et désintéressé. Bien qu'il soit un érudit confucéen qui a cherché à mettre en œuvre une société harmonieuse qu'il a lu dans les classiques, ses efforts ont fini dans le chaos.

Sa fille est l'impératrice Wang.
